My passion for plants and gardens began whilst working with my grandfather in his beautiful garden. This was the start of a career that evolved from my first job working in a local garden centre running the planteria, later progressing to become senior plant purchaser for a garden centre group.
In 2007 I started Stuart Bennett Garden and Landscape Designs (SBGD) after studying at Oxford Brookes University gaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Landscape Design.
My designs create individual spaces sensitive to the environment, linking the house and garden whilst still relating with the surrounding landscape. Careful plant selection provides year round colour, form and structure. Whilst my interest in using quality, natural products in an innovative way lends itself to both contemporary and traditional designs.
I like to work collaboratively with my clients to ensure the design brief is clear, realistic and interpreted correctly in the plan. My portfolio of work includes a wide range of designs from small urban gardens, large rural settings, courtyards in Northern Thailand to a 75 acre landscape project.
SBGD works closely with a select group of trusted landscape contractors ensuring the design is built to the highest standard.
